Sixth arrest in RAF Fairford terror plot probe

Counter-terrorism detectives have arrested a sixth man, a British-Iranian dual national, in connection with the RAF Fairford terror plot investigation. The 27-year-old was detained in Westminster as officers describe the circumstances as "hugely complex".

Five others released on bail

Another five men, all British nationals, have been released on police bail as the inquiry continues.

Investigation described as 'hugely complex'

Vicki Evans, senior national co-ordinator for counter-terrorism policing, said: "The investigation into the circumstances surrounding events in Gloucestershire is hugely complex, and our specialist teams are interrogating multiple lines of inquiry."

Evans added: "As we've made clear, we're looking at all possible angles, including possible foreign state involvement. I'd like to thank the public for their continued support and patience whilst we work through this investigation."
