Five men arrested over the suspected bomb plot at RAF Fairford are all British nationals from London, aged in their 20s, Counter Terrorism Policing has said.
Suspects identified as London residents
Three of the men are 24 years old, from Camden, Westminster and Willesden. The other two are 23 and 25, both from Westminster.
The men are being held under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, and a custody extension has been secured until later on Monday, police said.
Investigation ongoing
Amid speculation of Iranian involvement, a spokesman said: “At this time, we are working to establish the full circumstances of the activity of those arrested, their knowledge and any motivation behind this incident.”
