Five British nationals arrested over a suspected terror plot at RAF Fairford have been released on bail, as police investigate whether they were working for a foreign state.
The men were arrested in Whelford, Gloucestershire in the early hours of Sunday, initially on suspicion of explosives offences and later on suspicion of terrorism.
Investigation considers foreign state involvement
Lawrence Taylor, head of counter terrorism policing, said: "At this stage we are keep open mind in this investigation."
"We are considering this from every possible angle including this may be actively committed by proxies, or by individuals knowingly or unknowingly by a foreign state," he added.
All suspects released on bail
The five British nationals have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
