Levi Davidson, 40, died at the scene on Braybrook Street, Acton, after multiple shots were fired during a memorial service on the evening of October 2. The Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation, and no arrests had been made as of the force's appeal for information on October 3.
Incident details
Police were called to reports of bangs and a disturbance at the junction with Erconwald Street, next to Wormwood Scrubs Open Space, at around 7.45pm. Members of the public reported hearing the shots. Levi Davidson died from his injuries at the scene in East Acton.
Investigation and witness appeal
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of a man whose life was taken in a senseless act of violence." He added: "We understand a large number of people had gathered for a memorial service and what should have been a time to come together in remembrance has instead left a family devastated."
Police believe between 40 and 50 people, including children, were present when the incident occurred. DCI Howie urged anyone with information to come forward: "Someone knows what happened and we need them to come forward."
Investigators are seeking witnesses who were around Erconwald Street, Braybrook Street, surrounding roads, or Wormwood Scrubs playground between 6pm and 8pm on the day of the shooting. DCI Howie asked: "Did you see anyone carrying or concealing weapons, people on bicycles acting suspiciously, or vehicles being driven at speed?"
He also appealed for photographs, video, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage, or anything relevant seen on social media, noting that "the smallest piece of information could prove crucial."
