A young woman is fighting for her life in hospital following an alleged sexual assault in a Sydney park, with police making a swift arrest in connection with the incident.

Emergency services were called to Leacocks Lane in Casula, in Sydney's southwest, at approximately 1.45pm on Tuesday. They discovered an 18-year-old woman unconscious. Paramedics provided immediate critical treatment at the scene before she was transported under emergency conditions to Liverpool Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Police allege the teenager was attacked by a man who then fled the area. Following what officers described as extensive inquiries, a 27-year-old man was arrested on nearby Canberra Avenue. He has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and was refused bail. The accused is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday.
