British Transport Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted at Leighton Buzzard railway station. A man in his 70s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Incident Details
The alleged assault occurred on Saturday, July 4, at approximately 10:20am. The girl was sitting in the bus shelter outside the railway station when a man entered and allegedly proceeded to sexually harass and assault her, causing her to flee the shelter to escape him.
Arrest and Bail
Police have arrested a man in his 70s on suspicion of sex-based harassment causing alarm and distress, sexual assault, and sexual communication with a child. He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are urgently appealing to two people who were walking through the car park and may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
