Oasis Stars' Brother Charged With Rape

Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis musicians Noel and Liam Gallagher, has been charged with rape and other serious offences, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.

The 59-year-old, from East Finchley, faces charges including rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The alleged offences are said to have occurred between 2022 and 2024.

Scotland Yard stated that the charges follow an investigation launched last year, and a woman is being supported by specially trained officers. Gallagher is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on 27 August.

His solicitors said their client had 'consistently engaged with the police throughout their investigation' and 'always strongly denied the allegations made against him', adding that 'he looks forward to clearing his name'.

Paul Gallagher, who grew up with his siblings in Burnage, Manchester, has never been involved with Oasis. He authored a book in 1997 titled Brothers: From Childhood to Oasis and has worked as a DJ and photographer.

The charges come as Noel and Liam Gallagher continue their Oasis reunion tour, their first UK live shows together since 2009. The tour began in Cardiff last month and includes dates in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, as well as overseas performances.
