A massage therapist has been jailed for five years for raping a client in her South London home. Cosmin Tudorache, 33, from Brent, sexually assaulted and raped the victim during a 90-minute deep tissue massage booked through agency Urban Massage on October 6, 2017.
Tudorache arrived at the address with his own massage bed and oils and began the treatment for the woman, who regularly booked massages using the agency. Part-way through the massage, he sexually assaulted and raped the victim, only stopping when he noticed she appeared to be crying.
The masseur claimed the sexual activity had been consensual or a misunderstanding, but after hearing directly from the victim, the jury decided otherwise. Tudorache was found guilty of rape and two counts of assault by penetration following a trial at Inner London Crown Court, which concluded in January.
Sentencing on March 12, 2021, the judge also imposed a sexual harm prevention order lasting ten years. Nathan Paine-Davey, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “As a professional massage therapist on a house call, Cosmin Tudorache’s actions amounted to a grave abuse of trust. He took advantage of his victim who was alone.”
Paine-Davey added: “I would like to highlight the bravery of the victim who gave evidence during the trial. I hope this conviction goes some way in helping her move forward in her life. Sexual offences are some of the most traumatic and complex cases to prosecute, but the CPS will bring offenders to justice where there is the evidence to do so.”
