Former Disney Channel actor Matt Prokop, best known for his roles in High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Geek Charming, has been arrested in Texas on multiple charges including possession of child pornography.
Prokop, 35, was taken into custody on Christmas Eve at his home in Victoria County. According to local outlet Crossroads Today, the arrest stemmed from violations of bond conditions linked to previous charges filed in 2024, which included resisting arrest and aggravated assault of a family member.
On December 24, Prokop was charged with violation of bond conditions, evading arrest, and resisting arrest. An additional charge of possession or promotion of child pornography was added after a warrant was signed on December 31. He remains held at the Victoria County jail.
Prokop began his career with minor roles in Hannah Montana and The Office before landing a starring role in the third High School Musical film. He later dated his Geek Charming co-star Sarah Hyland, who obtained a restraining order against him in 2014 after alleging domestic abuse. Hyland claimed that Prokop threw a lighter at her on-screen mother Julie Bowen during an altercation.
Prokop’s last acting credit was in the 2013 film April Apocalypse. In July 2024, he announced on Instagram that he had started selling adult content on OnlyFans and was engaged.
