A seven-year-old girl has reportedly been gang-raped after being abducted from her home in Bangladesh. Two teenage suspects have been arrested in connection with the alleged attack, which took place last Thursday, June 4.
The suspects allegedly abducted the girl from her residence before locking her inside a public toilet. They then took turns raping her before fleeing the scene. The victim reported the incident to her family, leading to the arrests on Sunday, June 7.
Details of the Attack
According to local reports, the rape occurred in the village of West Para, located in the Faridpur District of Dhaka, Bangladesh. After the assault, the girl returned home and informed her parents. She was immediately taken to a hospital due to internal bleeding.
Local doctor Bashir Ahmad stated that he provided medication to stop the bleeding. However, her condition worsened on Sunday, prompting her transfer to the Tahirpur Upazila Health Complex for further treatment. Police Inspector Sushankar Pal confirmed that the victim received comprehensive medical care before being discharged. She is now recovering at home.
Arrests and Legal Proceedings
Sunamganj Superintendent of Police, A B M Zakir Hossain, confirmed the arrests on Sunday. He added that the investigation is ongoing. The suspects appeared before the Sunamganj Child Court on Sunday, where the judge ordered them to be sent to the Juvenile Development Center in Gazipur.
The case has shocked the local community and drawn attention to the safety of children in the region. Authorities have not released further details about the suspects or their motives.
