A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman at a hotel in the Cotswold village of Woodchester, Gloucestershire.
Police were called to the hotel at around midday on Thursday after the woman, described as being in a distressed state, reported that she had been assaulted and raped.
The suspect, from Dursley, had left the scene but was later apprehended following a helicopter-assisted search of the area. He remains in police custody.
Officers are continuing their investigations at the scene and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Gloucestershire Police.
