Police have released CCTV images of a man they are urgently seeking in connection with the rape of two women in south east London. A reward of up to £10,000 is being offered by the independent charity Crimestoppers for information that leads to his conviction.
Attacks on Vulnerable Women
The first attack occurred on June 19, 2024, when a woman was raped on Sewell Road in Abbey Wood. The suspect was captured on CCTV leading the victim to a derelict area before she reported the assault to police. The second incident took place near the Thames Path in Thamesmead in May 2020, involving another vulnerable woman.
Detectives have linked the two attacks through DNA evidence and have been conducting a nationwide manhunt to collect DNA samples from potential suspects. This has involved travelling across the country to obtain samples from men who could be biologically related to the offender.
National DNA Enquiries
Detective Chief Inspector Zoe Hendrick, leading the investigation, stated: "This man has targeted two very vulnerable women, raping them in daylight hours in residential areas. Investigations of this nature are extremely rare and our priority since the launch of the first investigation has been to support the victims and identify the man responsible."
The victims continue to receive support from specialist Met officers and partner agencies. The police have urged anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV images or has any information to come forward.
Reward and Anonymous Reporting
Alexa Loukas, Regional Manager for Greater London at Crimestoppers, said: "This is a deeply concerning case, and someone may hold information that could make a vital difference. Contacting Crimestoppers is completely anonymous: no names, no statement and no court appearance."
The reward of up to £10,000 is payable only for information passed directly to Crimestoppers, not to the police. A reward code must be requested when contacting the charity. Information can be given anonymously via phone at 0800 555 111 or through the Crimestoppers website.
Police Appeal
Police have asked anyone with information to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting reference CAD 3842/30JUN2026. The CCTV images have been recirculated in the hope that someone may recognise the man and assist with the investigation.
