Scott Miller, 39, a singer and manager for the Westlife tribute band WestLive BoyzLive, has been jailed for 11 years after being found guilty of physically and sexually abusing two women over more than a decade.
One of the women, who asked to remain anonymous, told how the abuse left her fearing for her life. The 36-year-old said she met Miller after he commented on a social media post she had shared, but the abuse started after the couple moved from Coatbridge in Scotland to Spain just months into dating in 2015.
Abuse began after moving to Spain
Speaking to Glasgow Live, the woman said: "Before that, I knew he would get angry that he was unemployed and felt like the world was against him. But he had never been violent or abusive with me. It was only when I was away from my family and there was nobody around that it started."
The mum claimed Miller would often accuse her of cheating or flirting with other men before verbally and physically abusing her. She added: "It started as a weird jealousy thing where he would say that I fancy this person or someone in his band. It got progressively worse. It went from words to physical abuse. I feel like a trauma bond formed because he would do something really horrible to me, but then he would be full of apologies. It was a cycle."
In one incident, the High Court in Glasgow heard how Miller shouted at the woman and threw her phone, causing it to break. While in Spain, he threw her suitcase at her head, causing permanent disfigurement. It was during this time that Miller first raped her after she woke to find him carrying out sex acts.
Control and violence continued in the UK
The woman said the abuse continued when the couple moved back to the UK and settled in Devon to open a pub, where he controlled all aspects of her life. She said: "When we moved to Devon everything just got worse. He controlled every aspect of my life. All of my money went into his bank account. I couldn't go anywhere on my own."
The High Court heard how Miller monitored her whereabouts, showed up uninvited to places she would be, isolated her from friends and family, and took control of her finances. He was also found guilty of throwing a TV at her while she was pregnant.
Recalling that moment, she said: "My life flashed before my eyes. I was pregnant and he threw a TV down the stairs at me." She also described an attack when her child was one, after a night out ended in an argument at a kebab shop. She said Miller threw a bar stool at her, smashing her face, and grabbed her and smashed her into the ground down a step as they entered a flat.
Conviction and sentencing
The woman was forced to go to hospital for an X-ray, where a fractured jaw was discovered. She said two police officers took her into a separate room to ask about her injuries, but she was too scared to tell the truth.
The High Court found Miller guilty of both attacks between 2015 and 2019. Documents state that during the attack following the night out, he repeatedly picked her up while she was unconscious and dropped her on the floor. He was also found to have pushed, hit and made derogatory comments to her, and pressured her into having sex after she had given birth.
Miller was found to have raped her three more times between 2019 and 2021, and to have seized her by the neck, slammed her to the floor, and thrown a bottle of liquid and a lawnmower at her. The woman escaped early one morning after the couple moved to Hamilton, packing a bag and leaving.
She said: "If it wasn't for my child I'd be dead now. They are the reason I left. No one knew at the time how he had been treating me, I always protected him because I didn't want people to know the truth. I was really scared of him."
Miller was also found to have engaged in controlling and abusive behaviour towards a second woman between 2012 and 2014, including attacking her multiple times while pregnant and raping her on multiple occasions.
The judge imposed a lifelong non-harassment order for both women. Reacting to the sentence, the woman said: "I didn't think he would get a sentence like that. I'm proud of myself for going through the process because hopefully it means that he won't get to hurt anyone else."
She added: "He destroyed my life and I'm only starting to pick up the pieces. I wasn't allowed to have a voice or be emotional during the entire relationship. I'm only just coming to terms with what he put me through. I feel like I've finally been heard and I don't have to be quiet anymore."
The mum, who still fears going out on her own, encouraged others facing similar abuse to come forward, saying: "I think anyone can do it if they find a tiny bit of strength. I was in a really bad place and I still don't know where I got the strength from. I think if you can then do not hesitate to do it because it will be so worth it in the end."
According to WestLive's social media, Miller recently went on tour with the band, performing at venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife and Saltcoats, as well as in England, Wales and Cyprus. Their 2026 tour dates showed upcoming gigs in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Peterhead. WestLive has been contacted for comment.
