Aaron Law-Glindon, 28, from Timperley, Trafford, has been handed a 20-month prison term, suspended for three years, after admitting one charge of wounding. The sentence was imposed at Manchester Crown Court following an attack in which Law-Glindon chased his ex-girlfriend's former partner with a knife and stabbed him in the chest.
Attack at ex-girlfriend's home
Law-Glindon had split with the woman in February 2024 but continued to live at her home. On September 9, 2024, the woman and another of her former partners were chatting in the living room when Law-Glindon arrived unannounced. The court heard he came "straight in through the front door and came straight towards" the victim.
Law-Glindon began punching the man in the head, "telling him he was going to kill him over and over again". The victim pushed the attacker onto the sofa to get away. The woman shouted at Law-Glindon to stop before he went to the front door and locked it. He then went to the kitchen, giving the woman and the male victim the chance to escape into the front garden.
Knife attack and aftermath
Law-Glindon followed the pair with a knife, which the woman described as "one of the biggest" she had in the kitchen. When the woman threatened to call the police, the 28-year-old fled the scene.
In a statement, the victim said he has been left with lasting chest pain and paranoia. Law-Glindon initially told officers his victim was the aggressor and denied picking up a knife.
Defence and sentence
Thomas Sherrington, defending, said Law-Glindon used to do drugs but has since stopped, and has had a "long period of reflection". His new partner is "anti-offending", Mr Sherrington added. Law-Glindon has a new job at a paper company, with his defence telling the judge: "He has proved to the court that he can be rehabilitated. He has a stable job and has stayed out of trouble. His partner is keeping him on the straight and narrow."
Law-Glindon, of Hayfield Walk, was also told to abide by a two-year probation requirement and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. Recorder Imran Shafi KC told him: "Your actions that day were absolutely disgraceful. You behaved like an animal, which is doing a disservice to most animals." Following the hearing, Law-Glindon, who has dice tattooed on his hand, was pictured holding a lottery scratch card after escaping an immediate prison sentence.
