Man Jailed for Eight Years Over 'Disgusting' Act in McDonald's Toilet

A registered sex offender has been sentenced to eight years in prison for carrying out a sex act in front of an 11-year-old boy in a McDonald's toilet in Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

Christopher Taylor, 46, from Wythenshawe, Manchester, stood next to the urinals at the fast-food restaurant in June and performed the act while the boy was washing his hands. The child later told his mother: 'Something’s happened in the bathroom that’s really weird.'

Taylor was subject to a sexual harm prevention order that only allowed him to use a public toilet if it was a cubicle designed for individual use. He pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court to engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13 and breaching the order.

Detective Constable Adam Rainsbury of Burnley CID said: 'This was disgusting behaviour by Taylor in front of a young boy who was using the toilets in McDonalds. Taylor is a registered sex offender who had conditions placed on him as part of a sexual harm prevention order. I welcome the prison sentence imposed on him and it shows that such behaviour will not be tolerated.'

Police traced Taylor after reviewing CCTV footage of his car, leading to his arrest in Manchester a few days after the incident. He was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday.
