Former BBC Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood has pleaded not guilty to a total of 15 charges, including rape and sexual assault, at Southwark Crown Court.
The 68-year-old appeared in court on Monday to face allegations relating to seven women. The charges include four counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and nine counts of indecent assault, spanning a 33-year period between 1983 and 2016.
Three indecent assault charges are alleged to have occurred at the BBC Studios in 1996. Westwood hosted shows on Radio 1 from 1994 to 2013.
Wearing a burgundy shirt and black jeans, Westwood stood in the glass dock with his hands clasped and spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas. He was granted bail until his trial, which is provisionally set to begin on 25 January 2027.
The alleged offences include indecent assaults in London in the 1980s, three indecent assaults at the BBC in the 1990s, and the rape of a woman at a hotel in 1996. Further allegations include rape and indecent assault in the early 2000s, two counts of rape in the 2010s, and sexual assaults in Gloucestershire and north London.
Westwood has previously stated that he 'strongly denies all allegations of inappropriate behaviour'. A pre-trial review hearing is scheduled for December 2025.
