Sayers family trial: Six deny Byker pub violent disorder

Three members of the Sayers family are standing trial accused of a violent disturbance outside a Newcastle pub. Stephen Sayers, his two sons Stephen Sayers jnr and Thomas Sayers, along with Anthony Brown, Lee Jamieson and Bradley Fraser, have pleaded not guilty to violent disorder on Shields Road in Byker, Newcastle, on July 12 last year.

Incident outside The Road pub

The incident is alleged to have taken place outside The Road pub, which was run by Thomas Sayers. The six defendants are Stephen Sayers, 61, Stephen Sayers jnr, 33, Thomas Sayers, 31, Brown, 24, Jamieson, 22, and Fraser, 26.
