Newcastle Pair Deny City Centre Affray Charges

Two people have denied being involved in a Newcastle city centre affray. Shayne Cook, 20, and Lola Charlton, 20, both appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

Charges and Pleas

The duo are both charged with affray, which was allegedly committed on July 26 last year. The charge states that on that date, Cook and Charlton "used or threatened unlawful violence towards other persons and your conduct was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety".

Both entered not guilty pleas to the charge and will next appear at Newcastle Crown Court.
