A murder investigation has been launched after a man found unresponsive on a South Ayrshire street died in hospital. Graham Milliken, 57, from Dundonald, was discovered by police on Main Street at around 4.05am on Sunday, August 23.
He was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where he died a short time later. His family has been informed. Following a post mortem examination, his death is being treated as murder.
Arrest and court appearance
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 25.
Officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to locals. The area is still taped off, and members of the public have been asked to avoid it.
Appeal for information
Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said: “Officers are in the area carrying out enquiries, checking CCTV and speaking to local residents in an effort to establish the circumstances surrounding the death. However, we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information that would assist our investigation.
“We would be interested to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam or doorbell footage, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area that night to contact us. Officers remain in the area and anyone with any information or concerns can approach them.”
