A murder investigation has been launched after a 56-year-old man died following a violent disturbance in Wales. Seven men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Gwent Police were called to reports of "violent disorder" involving a group of men in Mill Street, Pontypool, at around 7.15pm on Thursday, August 6. Three men were taken to hospital, with two initially said to be in a critical condition.
Anthony Jones, known as Tony, 56, from Brecon, has since died in hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
Arrests and investigation
Seven men, aged 31, 39, 40, 45, 59, 61, and 73, have been arrested in connection with the disorder. All remain in police custody.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Laura Bartley, said: "We recognize that reports of this nature will cause concern in our community, but we have officers working around the clock conducting inquiries as part of the investigation."
She added: "We're trying to establish the movements of those involved both before and after the disorder and are asking motorists who were driving along Hospital Road, Mill Road and the surrounding areas between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday to check their dashcam footage."

On Friday morning, a police cordon remained in place at Mill Road and Hospital Road as investigations continued. Forensic officers were active at the scene, placing evidence markers outside Pontnewynydd sports and social club.
