Kenneth Fishwick, 53, has appeared at Teesside Crown Court for the first time, charged with the murder of 51-year-old Dean Fishwick. Dean died in hospital after he was allegedly found with stab wounds at a property on Thames Road in Peterlee, County Durham, shortly before midnight on Wednesday.

Kenneth Fishwick, from Peterlee, appeared before the court via video-link this morning. He spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the brief hearing, during which dates for a plea and trial preparation hearing and a trial were set.
Trial date set
The Recorder of Middlesbrough, Judge Francis Laird KC, said: "Mr Fishwick, I will adjourn your case. I will set the trial for April 12. You will next be before the court on October 26. On that occasion you will be required to enter a plea to the incitement. In the meantime you will be remanded into custody."
