A man has appeared in court accused of murder after an alleged stabbing in County Durham. Dean Fishwick, 51, was found with stab wounds at a property on Thames Road in Peterlee shortly before midnight on Wednesday.
Police said he was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead a short time later.
Court appearance and charges
Kenneth Fishwick, from Peterlee, was charged with murder. The 53-year-old appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates Court on Saturday morning. He was remanded in custody and the case was sent to Teesside Crown Court, where Mr Fishwick will appear tomorrow.
Other arrests
A 73-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed, while a 77-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation, police confirmed.
