Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead in north Manchester. Officers were called to Eastford Square in Collyhurst late on Sunday evening following reports of a 'concern for welfare'. A man in his 40s died at the scene.
Police statement on the incident
Detectives at Greater Manchester Police believe there are 'no suspicious circumstances' but enquiries into the death are continuing. The deceased has not yet been named. An inquest into the death is expected to be held in due course.
A statement from GMP said: "Officers responded to reports of a concern for welfare for a man on Eastford Square at the end of Hamerton Road, Manchester, on Sunday 30 August 2026 at 12.26pm.

"On arrival, officers found a man in his 40s who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, but enquiries are ongoing."
