Man Dies in Newcastle Attack; Teen Among Three Arrested for Murder

A 16-year-old boy is among three individuals arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Newcastle. Northumbria Police responded to reports of an assault on Shields Road in the Byker district at 7:25 PM on Tuesday evening.

Victim Succumbs to Injuries

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he later died. Police have confirmed that two men aged 24 and 22, along with the teenage boy, have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

A section of Shields Road remained closed on Wednesday to allow forensic examinations. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Atherton stated, "This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are firmly with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life. We will offer them all the support we can and ask that their privacy is respected during this difficult time."

He added, "We have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death and arrested three people on suspicion of murder.
