A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in Neath town centre late on Friday night.
Emergency services responded to reports of a man being stabbed on Commercial Street at around 10.30pm on Friday, October 2. A 30-year-old from Sandfields, Port Talbot received medical treatment but has since been discharged from hospital.
Charges and court appearance
Police have now confirmed that Connor McCarthy, 30, from Neath Abbey, has been charged with section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
A spokesperson from South Wales Police said: "A man has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident which took place in Neath town centre on Friday October 2."

Victim discharged from hospital
"He is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on November 6."
"A 30-year-old man from Sandfields, Neath Port Talbot received medical treatment following the incident and has since been discharged from hospital."
Following the incident, Chief Inspector Carl Morris from South Wales Police reassured locals, saying: "There will understandably be concern in the local community regarding this incident."
"Knife crime remains low is Neath and thankfully the victim has been discharged from hospital."
