A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged stabbing in Glasgow that occurred nearly two months ago. The incident involved a 77-year-old pensioner who was reportedly stabbed while inside a vehicle in broad daylight.
Incident Details
Armed police and a dog unit were dispatched to Auckland Wynd in the Dalmarnock area of Glasgow on Tuesday, April 28, at around 12:10 PM following reports of a serious assault. Paramedics also attended the scene, and the elderly victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Dog units were seen searching the area near Riverbank Primary School in the east end of the city.
Photographs from the scene showed police vehicles parked along the residential street as investigations began. On Saturday, June 13, nearly two months later, Police Scotland confirmed that a 23-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Court Appearance
The accused is scheduled to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, June 15. Local residents were left shocked by the alleged assault. One mother commented, "I came running to the school thinking the worst. The teachers told me they took all the kids in and have shut all the blinds. The place was swimming with armed police earlier and they now have the dogs out. Thankfully no kids were hurt. I was so worried."
