A 52-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences following a fatal motorbike crash in Glasgow that claimed the life of a pensioner.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called to Pollokshaws Road at its junction with Queen Square at approximately 7:45 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025. The collision involved a Triumph Bonneville motorbike and a female pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the incident. She succumbed to her injuries nine days later, on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
Arrest and Charges
Police Scotland confirmed that a 52-year-old man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in connection with road traffic offences. He is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.
The road was closed to allow for investigations and reopened around 12:30 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences after a woman died following a crash on Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow. The incident happened around 7:45 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, and involved a Triumph Bonneville motorbike and a female pedestrian on the A77 Pollokshaws Road at the junction with Queen Square. Emergency services attended and the 74-year-old pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she later died on Sunday, December 21, 2025. The man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, June 16 and is the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal."
