A man has been charged after an explosive substance was allegedly discovered in Fallowfield, Manchester. Emergency services were called to Abram Close on Saturday, June 6, following reports of suspicious items.
Arrest and Charges
Greater Manchester Police later attended a property on Edward Sutcliffe Close at around 4.15pm on Tuesday, June 9. A 22-year-old man was arrested after suspicious items were allegedly found. In an update issued this morning (Friday), GMP confirmed the man had since been charged.
Miguel Sanchez, of Edward Sutcliffe Close, Fallowfield, has been charged with three counts of possession of an explosive substance for unlawful purpose. He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Magistrates’ Court later today.
Police Statement
A GMP spokesperson said: "A man has been charged in relation to an investigation into suspicious items found in Fallowfield. Miguel Sanchez, of Edward Sutcliffe Close, Fallowfield, has been charged with three counts of possession of an explosive substance for unlawful purpose. He has been remanded to custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 12 2026."
The spokesperson added: "These charges relate to incidents where suspicious devices were found in Fallowfield on Saturday 6, Sunday 7, and Tuesday, June 9 2026."
