Tyler Hutcheson, 22, is facing charges after police claim he attempted to buy sick sex abuse videos that a teenager allegedly filmed with a two-year-old. He faces two counts of child molesting, two counts of rape, and two counts of child exploitation.
Investigation and Arrest
The Arkansas man was identified in a child molestation case alongside 19-year-old Haylee Schmidt. Police arrested Schmidt in July after uncovering evidence that she allegedly raped a two-year-old child and filmed the grim ordeal. Schmidt was allegedly observed performing sex acts on the child while receiving instructions from two men in exchange for cash in clips discovered online by detectives.
A search warrant led to the alleged discovery of several videos and images, documenting how Schmidt allegedly forced the two-year-old to perform sexual acts. Detectives came across Hutcheson's social media profiles during their investigation into Schmidt. Conversations between the pair were reviewed where cops believe files containing child sex abuse material were created and then uploaded.
Alleged Payment and Instructions
Under questioning from police, Schmidt is alleged to have admitted she created multiple videos which documented her molesting the two-year-old at the request of Hutcheson in exchange for $25 (£18.50). Detectives identified Schmidt as the woman in the video because of her butterfly tattoos. According to police records, the toddler featured in the content was also identified.
Detectives sifting through several conversations between Schmidt and Hutcheson on Instagram claim Hutcheson directed Schmidt to perform specific sex acts on the child in exchange for payment. These conversations allegedly happened between June 6 and June 8.
Legal Proceedings
Online court records indicate that a warrant for Hutcheson's arrest was issued Monday out of Marion Superior Court 21. Schmidt is scheduled to appear in court on September 29 for the start of her jury trial in the case. She faces the same charges as Hutcheson.
