Mark Lord, 63, has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Bolton. He was due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday 9 October.
Charge and court appearance
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement on Friday that Lord, of Bryngs Drive, Bolton, has been charged with a single count of murder. He has been remanded into custody before appearing this morning.
The charge relates to the death of a man at an address on Bryngs Drive on Wednesday 7 October. The identity of the man who died has not yet been revealed.
Police response
Police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a man at a property on Bryngs Drive in Harwood, Bolton, at around 11.35am on Wednesday. A man was later found dead.
No further details have been revealed. However, police said on Thursday it is believed the man who died and the suspect were known to each other, and there was no 'wider risk' to the community.

Police tape was placed across the driveway of a bungalow on the road, with a liveried police car parked in front to secure the area. Residents told the Manchester Evening News officers had been in the street since Wednesday morning, with detectives knocking on doors to make enquiries.
