Former husband of media personality Katie Price, Kieran Hayler, has entered a formal plea of not guilty to serious sexual offence charges involving a child. The 38-year-old personal trainer appeared at Lewes Crown Court to deny the allegations.
Court Appearance and Formal Denial
During a short hearing, Hayler, dressed in a dark blue suit, white shirt, and grey tie, spoke from the dock to plead not guilty to all charges. He faces three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault concerning a girl who was 13 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.
The court heard that the alleged offences are said to have occurred during the summer of 2016. The victim, who remains unnamed, is receiving support from specially-trained officers, according to police statements.
Trial Date Set and Bail Conditions
His Honour Judge Stephen Mooney informed Hayler that he will stand trial at the same court, with the case scheduled to begin on 6 October 2026. A pre-trial hearing has been fixed for 23 April 2026.
Judge Mooney granted Hayler bail but issued a stern warning. "You will be released on bail. You will have to provide a defence statement. If you fail to attend your trial there is a prospect it could be heard in your absence," the judge stated. He also noted that "a number of issues may need to be raised" ahead of the trial.
Legal Representation and Previous Statements
Hayler was initially charged by Surrey Police in October 2025 and released on bail. He previously appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court last month.
Following the charges, a legal representative for Hayler issued a strong denial. "Kieran Hayler strongly denies the allegations made against him in its entirety," they said. "Mr Hayler is fully engaged and has been cooperating with the police throughout the investigation and will continue to do so. He looks forward to his name being cleared, believing in the judicial system to do so."
The case continues, with all parties now preparing for the trial next autumn.
