A drone strike has ignited a fire at Dubai's world-renowned Burj Al Arab hotel, following a series of retaliatory assaults across the region triggered by U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. The incident occurred on Saturday, 28 February 2026, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed on social media platform X that a drone was intercepted, with debris causing a minor fire on the hotel's outer facade. Civil Defence teams responded promptly and brought the situation under control. Authorities have reported no injuries from the incident at the luxury hotel, which is perched on an artificial island off Dubai's coast and stands 60 stories tall, located near the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building.

This attack comes hours after a surprise U.S.-Israeli military operation targeted government and military sites in Tehran. President Donald Trump justified the strikes as an effort to dismantle Iran's nuclear program and eliminate its leadership.
