Ann Johnson, 77, died in hospital on Tuesday, July 7, after being hit by a car on Black Lane in Macclesfield.
Collision on Black Lane
Cheshire Police were called at 11:04am on Thursday, July 2, to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Officers found Ann Johnson with serious injuries. She was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but died five days later.
Family tribute
In a statement, Ann's family said: "Our family have been left devastated and heartbroken by the tragic events of the 2nd July. Ann was a beloved mother and mother-in-law, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, and a friend to many whose lives she touched. Twice widowed, she was at her happiest helping others and her love and support will be sorely missed. Life will never be the same, however the many messages we have received are a great source of comfort and solace. We would like to thank everyone who helped at the scene of the accident, the Air Ambulance crew who attended and who provide such an amazing service, and lastly the staff at Manchester Royal Infirmary who were amazing to the end."
