Police have made an arrest in connection with the disappearance of Ricky Harris, who was last seen in November 2023. A 41-year-old man from Mountain Ash has been arrested on suspicion of preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice.
The man remains in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Ricky was last captured on CCTV at approximately 2:20 pm on November 18, 2023, in Maes-Y-Deri, Aberdare. His aunt, Nina Harris, had dropped him off at home after visiting a friend's house.
South Wales Police stated that the search for Ricky has been exhaustive, with officers continuously reviewing new information. A spokesperson said: "Officers are searching The Phurnacite site in Abercwmboi. We expect this will take some time to complete but are doing our best to limit disruption to those using the public spaces."
The spokesperson added: "We ask anyone who may have seen or spoken to Ricky in the days or weeks leading up to his disappearance, or anyone with any other information regarding his whereabouts, to contact South Wales Police. Your insights could make all the difference in this ongoing investigation."
