14-Year-Old Charged with Murder of Teen in South London

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old in Battersea, south London, on Saturday. Jamal Coombes was found with serious injuries after Metropolitan Police officers were called to Glycena Road at around 4am. Despite treatment from paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Charges and Court Appearance

The 14-year-old, from Wandsworth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. He is scheduled to appear at Highbury Corner Youth Court later today. Two other teenagers—a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl—were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday and have been released on bail. A second 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday and remains in police custody.
