A 21-year-old woman was found dead after being pulled from the water at Porthkerry Beach in Barry, Wales, an inquest has heard.
Eliza Hannah Chaudhry was discovered underwater at the beach on Wednesday, April 8. Her body was identified by her aunt the following day and taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
A post-mortem examination provided a provisional cause of death as '1A: immersion in water', according to the inquest at Pontypridd Coroner's Court.
Miss Chaudhry, originally from Watford, lived in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. Senior coroner for South Wales Central, Graeme Hughes, offered condolences to her family before adjourning the inquest to a date to be fixed.
