An unexploded ordnance was discovered in a garden in Burry Port, Llanelli, on Monday, July 27, leading to a road closure as bomb disposal experts attended the scene.
Discovery and response
Dyfed-Powys Police received a report at around 1.20pm of an old shotgun pellet located in a garden on Ashburnham Road, Burry Port. During the search, a small historic unexploded ordnance was also uncovered.
Officers collected the items at 6.42pm and transported them to Old Castle Road Police Station in Llanelli.
Road closure and safety measures
Old Castle Road was closed at 9.21pm while the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was awaited. Residents reported that police visited each property to inform them of the situation.
The road remained closed until the items were deemed safe and removed by the EOD team. It reopened at 11.43pm.
