Dr Hannah Cain, a GP who reportedly treated members of the Royal Family, was found dead at her home near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Her husband, Mark Cain, 45, has been charged with her murder.
Dr Cain, 45, was discovered at her address in Fern Hill, Dersingham, in the early hours of October 4. She was known professionally as Dr Hannah Terry. Mark Cain, also of Fern Hill, was arrested and charged with her murder on Tuesday afternoon. He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court.
Royal Connection and Career
The Fern Hill address is just over a mile from Sandringham House, one of the royal residences of the King and Queen. According to The Sun, Dr Cain was a GP for the royals and would treat some of them when they stayed at Sandringham, including Queen Camilla. Sources claimed that the King and Queen have been informed. Buckingham Palace has been contacted for comment.
Dr Cain, a mother of three, was listed as a member of the practice team at Grimston Medical Centre. The website of her business, Norfolk Sky Aesthetics, stated she had been a qualified doctor for more than 15 years and a GP for 8 years. She described herself as a “caring and professional doctor” who continued her GP work alongside her cosmetics business.
Police and CPS Response
Police said her family have asked for privacy and are being supported by specialist officers. Michael Devaney from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said: “The CPS has decided to prosecute Mark Cain for the murder of Hannah Cain following a police investigation into an incident at her home in Dersingham.”
“We have worked carefully with Norfolk Police during their investigation. Our thoughts remain with the family of Hannah Cain at this time,” Devaney added. Mark Cain is scheduled to appear in court later today.
