Police swarm Salford nursery after sudden closure

Greater Manchester Police have swarmed the scene of a nursery in Salford this morning after the business is believed to have closed for good earlier in the week. Several police vehicles are now stationed outside the Mini Fingers Day Nursery on Liverpool Road in Irlam, with images showing a police car at the entrance and two Tactical Aid Unit vans parked nearby.

Officers arrive on Wednesday evening

Officers arrived at the scene on Wednesday evening, though the nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. The Mini Fingers Day Nursery is believed to have shut down permanently earlier this week, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Email to parents announces closure

An email sent to parents from the nursery manager said: "It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that as of today, the owner of the nursery has decided to close the business. We as a staff team are devastated and have no words following this decision."

The M.E.N understands that prior to this, parents were sent an email about a collapsed drain and 'vermin' in the nursery. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details.
