Police swarm Aberavon beach, arrest 70-year-old man

South Wales Police swarmed Aberavon beach on Monday afternoon following a report of an incident. Officers were called at approximately 1.40pm on July 20 to a report of anti-social behaviour.

Man breached bail conditions

Upon arrival, police identified a man who was allegedly in breach of police bail conditions. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers attended Aberavon beachfront at around 1.40pm yesterday (Monday, July 20) following a report of anti-social behaviour.

"Upon arrival the man concerned was identified to be subject to police bail conditions of which he was in breach.

"The man - 70 years old and from Birmingham - was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He is currently in police custody."
