Chilling CCTV footage has captured the moment a man was kidnapped and repeatedly stabbed in a Welsh retail park. Connor Price, 28, was forced into a car at Cyfarthfa Retail Park in Merthyr Tydfil on February 10, after being lured there by an acquaintance.
Newport Crown Court heard that Tyshane Brown, 30, Luke Williams, 19, and George Miles-Williams, 24, were involved in the kidnapping. They demanded £5,000 from Mr Price's girlfriend in exchange for his life. The victim's father, Jordan Price, eventually rammed the kidnappers' car, allowing Mr Price to escape through a window.
The court was told that the defendants had threatened the driver of their Hyundai with an imitation gun to force him to drive them. When Mr Price arrived at the retail park with his girlfriend, Brown pulled him into the Hyundai and stabbed him. Williams also stabbed Mr Price repeatedly in the stomach and back while placing him in a headlock.
During the ordeal, Brown contacted Mr Price's girlfriend and warned her not to call the police or he would be killed. She could hear Mr Price being hurt in the background. The girlfriend then contacted Mr Price's father, who devised a plan to rescue his son.
Jordan Price and his friends set up a fake ransom drop at the retail park. When the kidnappers realised they had been tricked, they sped off with Mr Price still in the car. Mr Price attempted to escape and was stabbed in the hand and leg before his father rammed the Hyundai twice, enabling him to flee.
Mr Price suffered multiple wounds, including deep cuts to his thigh and knee, and required surgery on his left hand. The three defendants are awaiting sentencing.
