There is ongoing disruption to the Metro service in North Tyneside after a cable theft. No trains are currently running between Wallsend and North Shields in either direction.
Cable theft causes service suspension
The incident involves the removal of electrical cable on the Metro line in North Tyneside. As a result, services on the yellow line are not running to timetable.
The disruption has also affected Metro services in other areas, which are not running to schedule.
Alternative travel options for passengers
Metro customers can use their tickets, passes and Pop cards on two Go North East bus services: services 301 and 317.
