Man dies after stabbing in Ramsgate; murder probe launched

Kent Police have launched a murder investigation after a 52-year-old man died following a suspected stabbing in Ramsgate. Officers were called to reports of a man carrying a knife near the harbour at around 4.47am on Sunday.

Two men found injured

On arrival, officers found two injured men, one in Harbour Street and the other in Harbour Parade. The force said their injuries were consistent with stab wounds. Both men were rushed to a local hospital.

The 52-year-old man found in Harbour Street was later pronounced dead. His next of kin has been informed. The man found in Harbour Parade, aged 48, has since been discharged from hospital.

Arrest and ongoing investigation

A 21-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and remains in police custody. Kent Police said no other suspects are being sought in connection with the case.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing, while extra patrols have been deployed in the area to provide reassurance to the public.
