Emergency services are responding to a hazardous materials incident at Houstoun Industrial Estate in Livingston, Scotland, prompting evacuations and road closures. Police were alerted at around 8:50am on Thursday, 26 March 2026, to reports of a potentially hazardous material at a premises within the estate.
Road closures are in place from the Houstoun Road Interchange to Nettlehill Road, Firth Road and Grange Road. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances and specialist resources after being alerted at 8:38am. There are no reported casualties, and crews remain on site.
Police Scotland has advised the public to avoid the area, stating: 'Road closures are in place... Please avoid the area at this time.' West Lothian Council confirmed that a number of people have been evacuated as a precaution, with officers assisting the fire service.
