A 14-year-old girl who was arrested following a knife attack at a school in Manchester has been detained under the Mental Health Act, police have confirmed.

The teenager was taken into custody on suspicion of assault after officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the Co-op Academy in north Manchester on Tuesday morning. Greater Manchester Police stated that the girl was subsequently detained under the Mental Health Act.
During the incident, two 14-year-old pupils—a girl and a boy—along with a 27-year-old male staff member, sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Police confirmed on Wednesday evening that all three victims had been released from medical care.
