Merseyside Police have launched an investigation following reports of a gang wielding machetes on a street in Toxteth, Liverpool. The incident occurred on Monday, June 8, when officers were called to Rialto Close shortly before 9:25 pm after receiving reports that a group of men were armed with machetes in the area.
Police Response
Patrols quickly descended on the scene and conducted a search of an address on Upper Stanhope Street, which is near Rialto Close. Officers also carried out witness enquiries in the vicinity. However, no weapons have been recovered so far, and the police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
Appeal for Information
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Members of the public can contact Merseyside Police directly by calling 101. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
