An Oklahoma man has killed his wife and three children before turning the gun on himself in what police have described as a “massacre.” The incident occurred on Wednesday night in Oklahoma City.
Police responded to a domestic call and found five people with gunshot wounds. Three were already dead at the scene. The suspected shooter, Ruben Armendariz, 28, and one child were taken to hospital but later died.
The victims were identified as Cassandra Flores, 29, and the couple’s three children: Hillary, 9, Damaris, 5, and Matias, 2. Police believe Armendariz and Flores were married but separated.
Investigators are working to piece together the events leading to the tragedy. A friend of Flores described Armendariz as quiet and expressed shock, saying the couple had been together since Flores was 17.
