A cyclist has died following a collision with a bus on the A48 in Pwllmeyric, near Chepstow, on July 7. The crash occurred around 6am, with emergency services including the Wales Air Ambulance, Gwent Police, and the Welsh Ambulance Service arriving at 5.55am.
Cyclist taken to hospital in critical condition
The cyclist, whose family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers, was initially taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. Gwent Police confirmed on Monday that he died in hospital on Saturday, July 11.
Police appeal for witnesses
Officers are continuing their investigation and are seeking anyone who saw the cyclist on the electric bicycle before the crash. Gwent Police said: “Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw the cyclist travelling in the area before the collision, including motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, or anyone who may have captured relevant footage on a dashcam, CCTV system, mobile phone, or other recording device.”
