A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in Bolton. Police were called to reports of a 'concern for welfare' of a man at an address on Bryngs Drive, in the Harwood area of the town, at around 11.35am on Wednesday, October 7.
Officers attended and found the man, who had died. He has not yet been formally identified, but officers are in touch with the believed next-of-kin, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
Arrest made and custody
A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody for questioning. It is believed the victim and suspect were known to each other and that there is believed to be no 'wider risk' to the community, GMP said.

Bryngs Drive is a small residential cul-de-sac off Hardy Mill Road in the Harwood area of Bolton, to the north east of the town centre. A scene remains in place while officers continue their investigations.
Detective Chief Inspector Zed Ali, from GMP's Major Incident Team, said in a statement issued this evening: "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased during this incredibly difficult time. My team and I are trying to establish the full facts relating to this incident, but we believe both the suspect and the victim were known to each other. I would like to reassure the community in Bolton that there is no wider risk to them. A scene remains in place while officers continue their investigations in relation to this job, if anyone has any concerns, please speak to them, as they are there to provide reassurance and be a friendly face out in the community."
