Emergency services rushed to a UK beach after a body was discovered on Saturday morning. Search and rescue teams searched the area on Eastbourne beach after a welfare concern was reported on Friday afternoon.
Multi-agency search operation
An RNLI helicopter helped with the search. Witnesses reported that the person was wearing a wetsuit when their body was discovered. Sussex Police confirmed a body was found on the beach.
A spokesperson for the RNLI said: “Solent Coastguard requested our volunteer crew to assist with a multi-agency search after unattended items had been located towards the west of Eastbourne, reports the Sun. “The ILB carried out a shoreline search alongside local Coastguard Rescue Teams, the coastguard helicopter ‘Rescue 363’ and Sussex Police officers.”
